Litigation Paralegal

DESCRIPTION:
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting litigation processes, from initial intake through trial. This includes collecting, organizing, and maintaining both electronic and physical documents, drafting legal documents, and assisting with all aspects of discovery. You will be responsible for preparing and organizing case files, conducting legal research, and providing written analyses to attorneys. Additionally, you will assist with trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings, and managing logistics. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to oversee tasks related to case management, ensuring compliance with both Florida and U.S. District Court laws and procedures.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Collect, analyze, and maintain legal documents, including motions, affidavits, and discovery materials.
• Research and analyze legal sources, such as statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and provide written reports to attorneys.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests, subpoenas, and organize evidence, exhibits, pleadings, depositions, and trial materials.
• Assist attorneys in all aspects of trial preparation, including attending trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations as needed.
• Manage and oversee case files, including maintaining case management spreadsheets and delegating tasks to department assistants or file clerks.
• Coordinate trial logistics, including negotiating workspace, setting up remote office space, and coordinating with clients and vendors.
• Perform court and administrative agency filings, including electronic (e-filings) in accordance with Florida and U.S. District Court procedures.
• Use e-discovery databases and litigation support software for document production, deposition transcripts, and exhibits.

REQUIREMENTS:
 

• Education: Paralegal Certificate or Degree preferred; OR 10+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of Florida and U.S. District Court laws, procedures, and electronic discovery.
  • Proven experience in all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial.
  • Experience coordinating trial and arbitration logistics, including remote office setup and client/vendor coordination.
  • Strong understanding of e-discovery databases and litigation support software for managing documents and case files.
• Skills:
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file applications with USCIS, including family-based petitions, adjustment of status, provisional waivers, naturalization, and U Visas.
• Draft and file applications with the Immigration Court, emphasizing asylum and cancellation of removal applications.
• Submit supplemental evidence filings with EOIR in advance of Individual/Merits Hearings.
• Conduct client interviews for affidavits and draft motions and applications for Immigration Court filings.

Requirements:

•  Minimum 2 years as an Immigration Paralegal (required).
