DISTRIBUTION – INDIANAPOLIS
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
 
JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise and leads the shipping, receiving, storage and distribution of the company’s pharmaceutical products in the U.S.  Ensures management decisions, policies and procedures are implemented timely. Carries out the efficient and profitable flow of product into and out of the warehouse, and ensures accuracy and timeliness of orders and deliveries, and monitoring the day-to-day activities of the warehouse staff. 
 
WORK SCHEDULE
The regularly scheduled workweek for a 3rd shift from 11: p.m. to 7 a.m. 
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the assigned tasks as necessary, to maintain efficient utilization of employees and to ensure daily workloads are completed on schedule.
  • Ensure employees have received adequate training to perform their job functions in full compliance with established company. and Regulatory Standards including, but not limited to,the company’s Safety Rules and Policies, GMP, FDA, and OSHA.
  • Oversee purchasing of all supplies needed to maintain efficient operations.
  • Directs daily couriers manifest reports are printed and filed.
  • Ensures that all systems and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Liaises with Customer Service in the main headquarters, to ensure all shipments and billings are accurate. Ensures all customer service queries are completed promptly and effectively.
  • Responsible for the security, maintenance and general upkeep of the Indianapolis Distribution Center building.
  • Negotiates with couriers and LTL carriers and monitor their performance.
  • Works in concert with the manager, Inc. and exercises sound judgment and decision-making pertaining to employee relations and personnel actions
  • Maintains high morale and productivity within the warehouse.
  • Oversees the entire order picking and packing operation with focus on efficiency.
  • Ensures all orders are picked, packed, and ready for shipping in a timely manner.
  • Maintains acceptable levels of product to support the order fulfillment operation.
  • Provides both leadership and direction to all staff members.
  • Establishes controls, measurements and operating procedures for the order picking
  • Ensures that all procedures produce timely, cost effective, and accurate pick/pack order processing.
  • Assists in design and procurement of effective, cost efficient packing materials.
  • Interviews, hires, and performs staff evaluations.
  • Monitors work quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of products.
  • Coordinates and controls the order cycle and associated information systems.
  • Liaises with various internal departments such as Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales and Human Resources.
  • Analyses logistical problems and recommends new solutions.
  • Implements health and safety procedures.
  • Analyses production data to monitor performance and assess staffing requirements.
  • Responsible for compliance to DEA regulations on the storage and distribution of controlled substances.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises other’s work.
  • Establishes goals and policies for area of responsibility and has a broad latitude for decision making; review of actions through goal attainment.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MANDATORY or MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Five to seven years of Pharma industry related experience preferred. 
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
  • Position requires demonstrated personal computer skills:
    • Windows environment,
    • SAP transactions for Indianapolis Warehousing and Materials Management.
    • MS Office software experience including electronic mail; record keeping, word processing, spreadsheet and graphics preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team player spirit.
  • Must possess ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
 
PLANNING AND ORGANIZING TASKS
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
 
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
