Description
Our client is a large technology company with a national footprint.  ttg Talent Solutions was engaged to find their next Sr. Staff Accountant, and we were entrusted to find an accountant who meets the following criteria:
  • Works under minimal supervision
  • Analyzes assigned expense and balance sheet items,
  • Completes amortization of pre-paid expenses and liability accruals,
  • Manages Credit Card cardholder expenses,
  • Reconciles the inter-company account,
  • Tracks daily cash and credit card activity
  • Completes monthly bank reconciliations,
  • Supports the Manager in the month-end closing process,
  • Assists with managing the sales tax mailbox and provide support to internal and external auditors as needed.
Primary Job Functions:
  • Month end closing, which includes journal entries, amortization of various prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities, analysis of medical and outside professional expenses, and SG&A variance analysis and review.
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
  • Tracks daily cash and credit card activity to main deposit account, journalizes cash transactions, compares with trial balance in accounting system, and performs month-end bank reconciliations.
  • Assists with the sales tax mailbox by entering parts to the tax-exempt database and reply to tax questions from various departments.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors.
  • Sales and Use Tax
  • Prepare monthly tax compliance analysis including analyzing general ledger to monthly reporting and filling out necessary sales and use tax forms. Analyst is trained on less complex tax returns and is expected to progress to more complex tax returns
  • Analyzing data to determine reasonableness
  • Prepare month-end GL account reconciliations and necessary journal entries for multiple tax related accounts and numerous taxes/fees
  • Assist with state and local tax regulation compliance through an understanding of the reported information
  • Interact with taxing authority inquiries and auditors
  • Performing research with respect to tax notices and responses as necessary
  • Updating tax-exemptions in the system
  • Work on special tax projects with varying levels of involvement and responsibility
  • Prepare other various tax filings: Annual filings, Business Licenses, Tax-exemption certificates
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, or Bachelor's in Finance with at least five (5) years of general accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with ability to create complex spreadsheets using formulas, including v-lookup, and pivot tables
  • Advanced Accounting knowledge Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting with ability to balance cash accounts.
  • Strong trend analysis skills with proven ability to analyze expense accounts for trends
  • Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication
  • Must have experience in month-end close, preparing and entering journal entries, month-end accruals, following up on financial statement review questions
