Our client, a global multinational infrastructure engineering and construction company has engaged us to find their next Senior Manager, Financial Projects.  This company offers excellent benefits, career growth opportunity, and an excellent work environment.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Manager or Senior Manager at Big 4 or at a public company
- Experience auditing technical accounting issues and writing memos
Details about the responsibilities of the position:
  • Technical accounting issues
    • Analyze, conclude, and document discrete accounting issues/policies
    • Communicate to senior management. 
  • Acquisition accounting
    • Prepare the opening balance sheet of the acquired entity (es).
    • Assess fair value of assets acquired and liabilities assumed.
  • Thorough understanding of the acquired operations and accounting, fair value measurements and business combination accounting.
  • Ability to establish excellent relationships with acquired organization, directing the acquired business on various accounting matters and communicating relevant information to senior management.
  • Implement new accounting guidance
  • Monitor accounting guidance for changes, formulate corporate policies to incorporate changes, and teach the changes to the rest of the company.
  • Review goodwill for impairment indicators and perform the annual impairment tests, which involves coordinating with subsidiary management, specialists, corporate management, and auditors.
  • Prepare quarterly earn-out analyses requiring coordination with subsidiary management on forecasts.
  • For quarterly SEC filings, prepare certain disclosures for the acquisitions and accounting issues we were involved in.
  • Exposure to senior management is significant. The Controller and CFO check on our projects daily and the candidate will need to be able communicate with them.
Work/life balance is a big improvement over Big 4 and most public companies. We’re using a hybrid work model (2 days in-office per week).
  • BS degree in accounting with 8 years of related experience.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience in Global company with $1B in Revenues.
  • Minimum 3 years management experience.
