RN OR – Operating Room Registered Nurse- Lewisville, TX
$65K t0 $110K Annually
Full time – Days - 4 -10hr shifts 6:45am - 5:00pm 
 
Summary:
 
The RN – Registered Nurse – Operating Room - OR is responsible for assessing the operative nursing care needs of patients, planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The RN is responsible for providing care, which is appropriate for age specific (pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics), the developmental and safety needs, the planned procedure, and the anesthetic agent used.  The RN will communicate and educate the patient and/or their family members and/or significant others regarding events pertinent to their care.  The RN also anticipates and plans for the needs of the surgical team and coordinates the care provided in the Operating Room while maintaining an aseptic and safe environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Must be well organized, and pay high attention to detail
  • Effectively lead a team, promote cohesive team dynamics and be highly relational and responsive to their surgeon / anesthesia physician partners.
  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude, with an unwavering commitment to patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
  • Must be experienced in multi-disciplinary collaboration
  • Work closely with Sterile Processing, Perfusion, Inpatient Congenital Heart nursing team and others
 
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Must have expertise in the specific specialty providing leadership/management skills.
  • Must have working knowledge of overall OR service to add organizational value
  • Management experience required and competent in pre-operative practice
 
Required Work Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of 1 Year recent OR nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • MUST HAVE ACUTE CARE EXPERIENCE IN A HOSPITAL
 
Education: A bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
 
 
Licensure Certification: 
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS provider
