Procurement Lead

Salary Range:  $60K - $76K
Location:  Miami, FL
Work Status:  Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Reporting to the Director of Procurement, the Procurement Lead, will be responsible for designated procurement categories within the organization, leading the procurement process, negotiating and executing national and international agreements which may involve multi-year/multi-million-dollar expenditures. The ideal candidate shall have an in-depth working knowledge and command of their commodity/category domains.
This individual will be asked to significantly contribute to the functions overall strategy including continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and related areas/processes.
The role is instrumental in driving exceptional results for large scale strategic procurement initiatives and will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing capabilities with respect to specific commodities/categories. The Procurement Lead will actively liaise with other business units to apply global category expertise including market trends, sourcing insights and supporting case studies.
The Procurement Lead position is based at Amerijet' s corporate headquarters in Miami, Florida.
Specific responsibilities include:
▪ Develops, deploys, and manages sourcing plans and sourcing strategies for complex products and services required to support company operations and objectives.
▪ Development of comprehensive country and international market analysis for the goods/services procured to drive lowest total cost and maximum value to the company, maintaining knowledge of market trends including analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.
▪ Partner with user groups in development and launch procurement strategy timelines, cost and quality goals, and service levels, and guarantees effective internal client and supplier relationships.
▪ Viewed as a procurement reference and go-to person by internal clients and suppliers; being a contributor and an expert on procurement topics for the development and implementation of optimum purchasing processes, procedures, methods and systems.
▪ Manage strategic supplier relationships, including support of key supplier performance management systems (scorecards), implementation of consistent Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and associated supplier performance review schedules, and reporting of supplier performance against goals.
▪ Manage and drive transformation initiatives, such as major cost reductions, supplier rationalization and cost reduction, and ensure purchasing actions are jointly developed, fully communicated, and correctly integrated in strategic plans, budgets, negotiations and contracts.
▪ Maintain a competitive sourcing environment that is focused on continuous improvement and process efficiencies.
▪ Negotiate contracts, propose contract language, present insights related to the contract’s improvements for the existing terms and conditions.
▪ Manage the contracts throughout its term, including disputes, renewals or termination.
▪ Keeps the records updated and all involved areas fully aware of its contracted obligations.
▪ Enforce Procurement Policy and Guidelines are followed and Amerijet is compliant under federal and international regulations and other laws and regulations that may apply at any time.
▪ Other duties as assigned by the Director of Procurement.
The following critical success factors represent those deemed most critical to be accomplished in year one to ensure success:
▪ Establish strong, trust-based working relationships with the Director of Procurement and Amerijet’s leadership team.
▪ Support the Director of Procurement in: (i) developing and implementing processes, policies, procedures, and systems; and (ii) addressing some of the critical issues and opportunities facing the procurement area.
▪ Delivery of assigned critical procurement demands, based on business needs.
▪ Previous experience, with a minimum of five years in a similar role in Procurement in the aviation industry of significant size, with exposure to indirect and direct spends, and category management responsibilities.
▪ An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area, from a well-respected school or graduate degree.
▪ CPSM Certification or equivalent. Desirable Lean Six Sigma certification.
▪ Strong business and financial acumen with excellent analytical skills are essential.
