The Member Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in generating leads for the sales team. They contact potential and existing patients by phone to inform them of our medical services. The Member Engagement Specialist also receives phone calls of people responding to direct marketing and advertising campaigns.
▪ High School Diploma or equivalent
▪ Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English.
▪ 1-2 years of experience in Customer Service preferred
▪ Basic computer knowledge; MS Word and MS Excel, internet, document with Electronic Health
Records and/or authorization system with minimal typing/spelling errors, send e-faxes and email.
▪ Strong people skill; independent decision making and customer service oriented.
▪ Must be able to flexible schedule and hours.
▪ Basic computer skills to be able to recognize and understand our appointment system.
▪ Excellent communication, Customer Service and telephone skills.
▪ Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task effectively.
▪ Detail oriented and able to work efficiently in a stressful environment.
▪ Strong sense of teamwork and be able to manage high volume of interpersonal relationships with
tact and diplomacy.
▪ Must be able to work independently and relate well with all levels of individuals within the
▪ Able to respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
▪ Ability to be persistent but not give in on the first negative answer from the potential patient but
persist in informing the patient about the services.
▪ Service knowledge and ability to sell them with a focus on a customer’s demographics.
▪ Great customer service skills who knows how to deal with their potential patients. Customer service skills mean understanding customer needs and behaviors as well as responding appropriately to a customer’s questions or concerns.
▪ Consistently make a good first impression when calling leads
▪ Engage potential patients in dialogue that opens opportunities
▪ Commit to departmental and individual quotas/goals
▪ Meet company expectations for excellent customer service
▪ Update contacts database when necessary
▪ Provide information regarding services in an engaging manner
▪ Answer all patient questions honestly and accurately
▪ Take relevant notes on all calls for future use and enter into database
▪ Maintain a friendly, professional tone at all times
▪ Function as part of the team with sincere enthusiasm
▪ Negotiate sales and address any concerns/reservations of potential customers
▪ Complies with HIPAA regulations.
▪ Performs other duties as assigned.
