MATERIAL HANDLER ASSISTANT POSITION DESCRIPTION 
   
SUMMARY
The role will support the organizing, lifting, and moving of our inventory. On this occasion, they may need to drive the forklift. If training is needed, we will provide it. Parts may vary from small parts up to big parts weighing 50 lbs. The temps will basically support the material specialist who takes care of any part negotiations and/or inventory input in the materials department. The rate of the role is $14.00 hourly. The schedule we are looking for is M-F starting at 8:00 AM.
  
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
  •  High school diploma
  •  Must have a valid driver's license
  
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
  •  Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a warehouse
  •  Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  •  Must have warehouse experience
  
SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
  •  Works under immediate supervision.
  •  Open availability to work a schedule that may require work on weekends, holidays, overtime, or schedule changes with short notice
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  •  Be able to work in a team environment effectively
  •  Ability to lift and/or move heavy items and assist others when lifting is required
  •  Must be able to pull orders and stand for long periods of time
  •  Must be able to pay Attention to Details
  
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
Job duties include but are not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting (including wrists), reaching below and overhead, standing for long periods, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and lifting heavy items. Warehouse climate conditions are subject to change without notice.
Mental, visual, and auditory acuity necessary to work with or near moving mechanical parts (i.e., cooler, dock equipment), in high, precarious places (i.e., ladder work), and cold/hot climate conditions. Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to computers, human voices, sound systems, and machinery.
