($115,000 to $128,500 Bonus Excellent Benefits)    
  
ttg has been retained by one of its clients to find their next Head of Business Development, Educational Services.  This role requires Business Development skills to identify opportunities to expand the company’s Corporate Training capabilities and engineer new revenue streams.
  
This person will oversee and develop high-level relationships with academia and organizations that are part of various educational initiatives as well as organizations seeking continued education and training.
  
Duties and responsibilities/essential function
  • Positions the company as a provider of high quality, scalable, and financially sustainable educational and training services on its field
  • Grows revenues by identifying untapped markets and relationships in the U.S. and abroad Contributes to voice of the customer efforts and is able to dissect needs of key market segments
  • Contributes to market research and new product ideation and development
  • Works with direct reports when identifying market opportunities, conducting viability and market acceptance studies for new programs as well as when leveraging data insights to aid in new product development
  • Develops comprehensive business plan when launching new products including pricing and marketing needs
  • Identifies innovative training solutions for both virtual and face to face learning programs and conference events for multiple market segments
  • Represents organization (public-facing figure) in private and public sectors i.e. local, state and federal agencies as well as with agencies and organizations abroad
  • Manages and integrates any new businesses acquired to complement existing lines of business
  • Fosters a collaborative process (with both internal and external constituents.
  • Works with direct reports to determine staffing needed to support an impactful team of developers, training and event support personnel
  • Works closely with the Director of Global Sales by sharing insights to financial planning and budgeting as well as provides feedback on sales strategies
  • Develops short-term and long-range goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations aligned with the organization strategic plan
  • Works with direct reports in the preparation of the annual and other periodic budgets/forecasts for the department (including funding needed to achieve goals)
  • Seeks collaborative initiatives with relevant agencies/organizations to address workforce development needs
  • Creates planning processes to identify priorities for investments
  • Utilizes metrics, including competitor data, to proactively manage the business
  
Required Qualifications/Attributes include:
  • 10) years of business development experience educational products/services (industrial sales a plus) - including eight (8) years in management
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in an industrial industry is preferred
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% - The ability to travel by car, train, or airplane as needed to do the work.
  • Proven record of visionary leadership, managing and networking
  • Business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to grow the business
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, goal setting and attainment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to manage and build trust with diverse stakeholders
  
Knowledge of:
  • Variety of marketing concepts including branding and social media platforms
  • New business/target integration
  • Sales and market positioning
  • Project Management and ability to effectively manage and lead multiple projects
  • Planning and delivery of professional development conferences and other events
  
Skilled in:
  • Budget planning, forecasting, setting objectives and determining courses of action
  • Negotiating contracts and partnerships
  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications  
Ability to:
  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize team effectiveness
  • Understand the proprietary/confidential nature of information and/or issues, uses good discretion and judgment
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external audience (customers, volunteers, partners and others, including foreign organizations)
  • Speak in public settings articulately and make presentations
  • Manage customer expectations and deliver exceptional customer experience
