Our client, a global nonprofit professional organization is looking for Writer Circuculum Designer their for their headquarter located in Doral, Florida. 

This position is responsible for designing, writing, editing, developing, and deploying instructional materials and resources in support of Education and Training initiatives for the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, the creation of online courses, multimedia presentations, technical documents, procedural guides, textbooks, workbooks, and lesson plans.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Function
The duties, responsibilities, and essential functions of the Instructional Designer are:
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create, develop, and revise educational and training materials
  • Identify necessary reference materials and resources for course development
  • Create learning objectives, desired outcomes, assessments, and lesson plans for synchronous and asynchronous online training and face-to-face instructor-led courses (as needed)
  • Create design templates, graphical elements, and written content for synchronous and asynchronous online training and face-to-face instructor-led courses
  • Maintain project timelines for content developed using ADDIE and AGILE methodologies
  • Create engaging, interactive synchronous and asynchronous online training using instructional design best practices
  • Increase the quality and effectiveness of content presentation and delivery based on professional experience and end-user feedback
  • Review and edit materials written by others and provide suggestions for revision
  • Ensure that all educational materials adhere to the organization’s design standards and comply with applicable codes and governing documents
  • Write and edit supplemental content (newsletters, blogs, FAQs, advertising copy, etc.)
  • Participate in the analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating new and existing educational programs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education and Training
To successfully perform the functions of this position, the following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Curriculum Design & Instruction, Writing, Education, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical writing and/or instructional design
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theories, current instructional design best practices, and eLearning
  • High technical aptitude/acuity; ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts and information through multimedia
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to follow directions, coordinate multiple projects, work independently with minimal guidance, and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and modular content creation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Articulate 360 (Storyline, Presenter, Quizmaker, Rise), and Adobe (Acrobat, Premiere, Captivate) product suites
 The following qualifications are strongly preferred:
  • Proficiency with digital layout and design tools (e.g. Adobe InDesign)
  • Proficiency with multimedia creation/editing software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Audacity)
  • Experience with web design (e.g. HTML, Java, CSS)
  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) administration (e.g. designing courses, organizing/managing content, generating reports)
  • Working knowledge of the welding industry and/or other related fields or technical trades
