GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our client nationally. The role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.  This role is mainly responsible for:
  • Providing strategic HR support to both the CEO and other Sr. Executives,
  • Daily HR operations,
  • HR compliance,
  • Talent acquisition, and
  • Employee engagement & development.
 
Strategic HR Support:
This role will partner with the senior executive team, mainly the CEO, to develop the necessary understanding of the business, and its strategic direction, to define the appropriate talent mix and policy for Company Cinema. This position will foresee future needs, and propose action plans to the CEO to attract, develop and retain the relevant staff to support Company’s strategic plans.
 
Daily HR Operations:
Ensures that the HR Team is able to fully support the business by providing superb customer service to all internal stakeholders, and ensure employee needs in terms of payroll, benefits, and keeps employee records up to date including personal information, vacations tracking, documentation and others.
 
HR Compliance:
This role ensures Company is fully compliant with all business, federal, state and local requirements at all time. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with FMLA, Anti-Discrimination Practices, Sexual harassment, document retention policy, and others. Furthermore, the HR Director will proactively keep abreast about regulatory changes that might affect the business and will forge a working relationship with the legal team to further enhance the HR Department’s effectiveness in this area.
 
Talent Acquisition Strategy:
Assists CEO in defining the relevant Talent Acquisition Strategy for the company in order to secure access to a relevant talent pipeline in line with the strategic direction of Company.
 
Employee Engagement & Development.
Responsible for fostering a work environment that is conducive to creating a sense of belonging for all employees in order to maximize both engagement and retention. This role will manage the social aspects of the functions, such birthdays, employee of the months, and other programs, that are cost effective, and achieve engagement while increasing retention. Also, this role is responsible for partnering with the managing team, to identify those key individuals and or roles that are deemed to be “mission-critical,” for further development and growth.   This role will lead the creation and refining development path plans for the company.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and oversee company and departmental policies and procedures that support the accomplishment of the company’s and departments strategic goals, core values and culture.
  • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
  • Prepare monthly salary and/or other analytical reports for CEO, as necessary or requested.
  • Manages human resources operations by personally recruiting all corporate/executive level staff, selecting, and orienting new staff.
  • Supports management team by providing clear human resources processes & procedures, policies & standards, facilitates teaching and coaching to company-wide personnel.
  • Responsible for all areas of HR Compliance: federal, state, and local legal requirements – Including corporate requirements like drug testing, references, background checks, etc.
  • Proactively develops policies and strategies geared towards risk and HR exposure mitigation for the company.
  • Negotiates company benefits on a yearly basis.
  • Ensure prompt and effective communication to staff of all benefits and options available to them, as this is a key area for retention.
  • Assists management team with Employee Policy & Manual questions/clarification/updates.
  • Tracks management corrective actions, assisting Regional Operations Manager and Director of Operations Manager with any questions/concerns regarding the disciplinary process and ensure they are documenting issues appropriately for personnel file to properly thwart future legal issues.
  • Assists Executive/Director Management team with 6-month evaluation reminders and yearly evaluations if needed
  • Ensures prompt and effective responses to and from management team for the entire HR group. Also, ensures that employee concerns are promptly addressed.
  • Ensures company-wide compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily and timely.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience required including Five (5) years of experience in a HR leadership position.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Paycor experience a plus
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Driver’s License
  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Human Resources Management experience
  • Hiring, Phone Interviewing skills and etiquette
  • People skills
  • Able to help educate other employees on company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Payroll experience
  • Advanced computer skills working in MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Effective communication and writing skills required
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, employee relations, training and development.
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Coaching and mentoring at management level
  • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs
