We are seeking a result-oriented, intrapreneurial, Controller to become mission critical member for our expanding client, a successful private equity firm.   Our client recently divested one of the US Hispanic largest CPG retailing chains.
In this leadership role the Controller will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff.   The Controller will handle key decisions and challenge, negotiate and influence vendors and team members, encourage innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, and challenge the status quo.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
  • Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental
  • Present investors and partners with monthly financial report
  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Controller Requirements & Skills
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Past work in CPG, Emerging brands and experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
  • Deep understanding of Analyze Financial Statements
  • Budget forecasting experience required
  • Top notch analytical, quantitative, and social skills
  • Understanding of US GAAP
