Summary
An experienced, engaged, creative ENG camera operator/editor whose experience in breaking news, innovative creativity with an eye and skills to tell a story. The position is driven by the freedom and support you need to make an impact – pushing boundaries, creating solutions, hitting targets. Proven skills as a camera/lighting operator, able to use the latest range of ENG cameras for EFP and long-form/documentary style content gathering. The ability to travel with limited or no notice and work within a variety of environments (some hostile and high-pressured).
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Operate current ENG news cameras, field editing systems
  • Ability to use lighting techniques to enhance the visual shot.
  • Knowledge of ENG audio equipment
  • Proven ability to use non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere) and to understand complex in-house workflow, from acquisition to contribution.
  • Operate bonded IP technologies to deliver LIVE and recorded video content from the field.
  • ENG camera/sound/ lighting kit and personal broadcast equipment including the use of company pool vehicles when required.
    Use your experience and expertise to enhance the creative and editorial process.
  • Cover a wide variety of news stories in the United States and sometimes abroad, often at short-notice and at times on your own.
  • Experience in delivering a wide variety of raw and edited news content for all platforms, when under pressure of tight deadlines and challenging environments.
Qualifications and Skills
  • The primary role will be to work on a wide variety of news content, from reacting to “breaking news” to long-form projects.
  • A strong sense of how news works for online platforms including Facebook / Twitter / Sky News Mobile App.
  • A keen sense of what makes high quality visual journalism as well as the enthusiasm to continually improve all aspects of the news gathering process.
  • A valid passport
  • Works effectively as a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Work under highly pressurized and stressful conditions, a flexible and positive approach is highly valued.
  • This position supports 24x7 operations, thus availability after hours, and in cases extended shifts, is a must
