ttg has been engaged by our client,  a vertically integrated cultivator, processor, formulator and retailer of Premium Cannabis Products currently operating in Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas to find a leader who wants to work alongside great talent and create a positive work experience for their team. As the Controller this position will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company in conjunction with the CFO. The Controller will oversee the management of financial statements, prepare forecasts and budget data, analyze and prepare key financial schedules / deliverables and assist in other special reporting projects as needed.
  • Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and tax reporting.
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements in IFRS
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, including CSE and tax compliance
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with IFRS
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

This position has supervisory responsibility of the accounting department.

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or Business Administration required.
  • Eight years or more of related experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation.
  • Experience in working with public companies
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under one legal umbrella
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • GAAP: 5 years preferred
  • Controller: 5 years preferred
  • Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
