Exciting new opportunity for an experienced hands-on Controller to oversee the company headquarters’ accounting department for an international entity with exposure to Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior experience with regulatory and financial reporting, development of internal controls and policies and financial statement consolidation a big plus.
  • Participate in the development and support of the company’s strategic plans.
  • Supervises monthly close and related accounting staff
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s established policies.
  • Establish, implement and monitor appropriate internal controls and policies to ensure performance and compliance with US GAAP, tax and other statutory requirements (Sarbanes-Oxley)
  • Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll and budgeting duties.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activity.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly and annual operating budgets.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Coordinate yearly audit and income tax filings with external tax advisors
  • Strong analytical ability with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent team player, with good communication skills, able to maintain good relationships with colleagues as well as internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand and explain impact of market developments on business results and good aptitude to translate into financial consequences.
  • Strong PC skills, and in particular, advanced ability in Excel is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Accounting designation CPA desired but not required
  • 10 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.
