Background:
Our client, a global leader in the InsurTech group, has engaged us to find their next Client Services Expert - PL/SQL, as it continues to expand its presence in the North American market.
 
Our client is a Leader in the Reinsurance software arena with a flagship software solution. It’s software solution is a comprehensive reinsurance platform designed to support the range of ceded, assumed and retroceded reinsurance administration for all lines of business. This application plays a crucial role in enabling insurance & reinsurance companies achieve their risk management objectives through a state-of-the- art reinsurance management system.
This position requires a skilled IT Professional Services Engineer to deliver software implementations, support customers in planning, deployment and maintenance of the solution on the Company’s Private Cloud.
This role will work as a DevOps Engineer and will collaborate with the Cloud Software and Network Engineers, the Development Teams, the Database Administrators, the Architect teams, the Project Managers, and the Business Teams to take charge of technical duties and support in an agile setup.
 
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE   As a key member of the Center of Excellence the Client Services Expert is responsible to provide dedicated technical and functional support to clients and exceed their service expectations. This role must master the understanding of company flagship software as it relates to clients’ businesses and processes in order to provide solutions and address issues raised by our clients.  The role is responsible to investigate the core reason for the issues raised by clients or internal teams by analyzing the software and the databases capabilities and provide workaround solutions and/or permanent fixes.  In addition, this role supports clients’ upgrade projects and month-end close processes.  
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Function as “client advocate” to translate their needs in order to provide optimal solutions to their business leveraging the Company Solutions software 
  • Must demonstrate strong knowledge and utilization of PL/SQL to troubleshoot software issues and develop new functionalities 
  • Perform business and technical analysis of software problems to resolve client’s requests, solutions may include alternative software options, writing and deploying scripts, etc.  
  • Understand, in depth, the business model and strategy of our clients including their workflow processes in order to provide appropriate customized solutions  
  • Present viable options to our client including software enhancements and developments to anticipate and address their strategic short- and long-term needs 
  • Understand the reinsurance industry as it relates to the Company’s Flagship Software functionalities 
  • Participate in information gathering and follow up on resolving technical problem solving 
  • Independently troubleshoot, research, and work through complex issues
  • Develop some quick-fix solutions (scripting data or settings solutions)
  • Ongoing interaction and collaboration with client, Q&A, support, development, and product management teams across international time zones 
  • Analyze, summarize and provide solutions to the issues raised by the clients or Company Solutions business teams
  • Document the issues and communicate with the product and maintenance teams
  • Support software upgrade projects and clients’ month-end close processes
  • Work successfully in a team setting as well as independently
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed 
  • Work closely with account managers, clients and functional leads 
  • Ensure work schedule availability, on an on-call basis, overnight at times, to attend to global clients’ inquiries or urgent calls, in coordination with the Management Team

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • Minimum (3) Three years of previous experience 
  • Expertise in PL/SQL, Oracle database, Java, Talend or experience with similar tools 
  • Knowledge of SAP Business Objects is a plus 
  • French language knowledge – a plus 
  • Experience in a fast-paced Information Technology Industry / Environment.
