Bank IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Lead – Miami, FL
 
Position Description: The Bank IT Disaster Recovery (DR) Lead will ensure implementation and compliance with the day-to-day functions related to creating/managing Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and procedures. The role will manage disaster recovery (DR) operations for the Bank. This position is accountable for the end-to-end efficiency and effectiveness of the DR processes. The position will ensure all adequate pre-planning and recovery testing is in place and seek approval from the organization’s technology leaders as needed in the exercise of his / her responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) functions at the Bank.
  • Ensure development of recovery plans by each of the recovery teams.
  • Lead performance of the organization’s business and team Business Impact Assessment (BIA).
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the plan through regular reviews with teams and stakeholders.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and conduct planned DR tests.
  • Coordinate and plan DR testing with internal/external stakeholders and service providers.
  • Perform BIA and DR risk assessments in compliance with established timetables
  • Perform BIA and DR risk assessments ensuring compliance with banking and government regulations
  • Develop, coordinate, and assess recovery requirements and contingency plans
  • Develop contingency plans to deal with business disruptions and emergencies.
  • Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
  • Assess risks to business operations.
  • Manage contingency plan integration and operation.
  • Define and establish contacts/networks for recovery resources and support systems
  • Training and exercising of the recovery plan
  • Explore, define and implement further practices to ensure sustainability of strategic plan initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technology field.
  • 2-4 years IT experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery; depth of knowledge on processes and best DR and BCP practices.
  • Management experience in Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery.
  • Minimum 2 years exposure to operations production and technology environment
  • Reasonable depth of exposure/understandingof Business Continuity Management processes and best practices.
