PROFESSIONAL AWS SERVICES ENGINEER                                                   
Starting Salary  $87K - Based on experience and qualifications
 
Background:
Our client, a global leader in the InsurTech group, has engaged us to find their next PROFESSIONAL AWS SERVICES ENGINEER, as it continues to expand its presence in the North American market.
 
Our client is a Leader in the Reinsurance software arena with a flagship software solution. It’s software solution is a comprehensive reinsurance platform designed to support the range of ceded, assumed and retroceded reinsurance administration for all lines of business. This application plays a crucial role in enabling insurance & reinsurance companies achieve their risk management objectives through a state-of-the- art reinsurance management system.
This position requires a skilled IT Professional Services Engineer to deliver software implementations, support customers in planning, deployment and maintenance of the solution on the Company’s Private Cloud.
This role will work as a DevOps Engineer and will collaborate with the Cloud Software and Network Engineers, the Development Teams, the Database Administrators, the Architect teams, the Project Managers, and the Business Teams to take charge of technical duties and support in an agile setup.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate new customer implementations and deployments onto Company’s SaaS platform
  • Participate to the software development life cycle of our AWS platform including requirements gathering, planning, development, testing, and quality assurance
  • Participate to the improvement and maintenance of our CI/CD pipeline
  • Configure, deploy and maintain the solution onto our AWS platform
  • Use customer service skills to identify, troubleshoot and resolve production and non-production incidents in a timely manner
  • Communicate with client’s technical teams for information gathering, follow-up and technical problem resolution
  • Independently troubleshoot, research, and work through complex problems
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the IT Director, the accounts managers, the project managers and all different technical teams, interact and collaboration with clients, Q&A and support teams across international time zones
  • Perform oracle database administration tasks
  • Participating in performance tuning and optimization activities
  • Take on additional responsibilities and projects as needed
  • Ensure work schedule availability, on an on-call basis, to attend to global clients’ inquiries or urgent calls, in coordination with IT Director and Management Team
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • One to three years of previous relevant experience
  • Expertise in Cloud platform
  • Expertise in Oracle database
  • AWS certifications are a plus
  • French language knowledge – a plus
  • Experience in a fast-paced Information Technology Industry / Environment.
