Scope of Position:
  • Manage the Accounts Payable staff supporting manufacturing subsidiary to provide accurate and timely processing and disbursement of vendor obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to established internal controls and procedures related to the AP process.
  • Interact on a regular basis with upper management and external suppliers as well as internal business partners.
  • Oversee all Accounts Payable activities for manufacturing subsidiary, including troubleshooting and resolution of JD Edwards and SAP systems issues.
  • Lead team in transition from JD Edwards to SAP, ensuring team is effectively trained on related process changes.
  • Accomplish department’s service-level agreements related to servicing internal and external customers/ vendors.
  • Drive continuous improvement and performance goals through the compilation of data analysis, reporting tools and performance metrics.
  • Achieve key performance indicators (KPI) established for the department such as payment on time, reduce aging balances, increase DPO, etc.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of supplier PO and Non-PO invoices and all other payment requests.
  • Assist in special projects, as needed.
  • Support internal and external audits; pull source documents and work directly with auditors.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and receiving to maintain RNI levels and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Work with sourcing and operating units to ensure critical vendors are paid timely to eliminate shipment holds.
  • Support processes and procedures that ensure compliance with company payment policies and SOX controls.
  • Support process and procedures that ensure supplier compliance and ensure compliance with AP policies and legal/regulatory requirements as well as proper internal controls in Accounts Payables.
  • Monitor, review, and coordinate expedition and resolution of vendor inquiries and communicate with other departments to resolve vendor invoice/payment discrepancies.
Minimum Skills Required:
  • 4-year college degree (Accounting or Finance), from an accredited institution, and/or equivalent work experience in a similar role.
  • At least 3 years prior experience as an Accounts Payable Manager, preferably in a publicly held company with >$500 Million in Revenue.
  • Experience with ERP implementations or SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
