Accounting Supervisor – Food & Beverage

Job Title:  Accounting Supervisor - Food & Beverage
 
Summary:  The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Controller. The role is pivotal in the full-cycle accounting process, cash management, account reconciliation and expense analysis.
 
Duties/Responsibilities
 
General Accounting and Analysis:
 • Monthly general ledger closing and financial statement preparation
• Preparation and control of journal entries
   Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Physical Inventory oversight, including cycle counts
• Provide management and direction to Credit, AR, AP and Payroll
• Assist with Year-End audits
• Assist in preparation of monthly consolidation process
• Perform input, maintenance and review of fixed asset sub-ledger and controls
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account analysis
• Monthly variance analysis of corporate departmental expenses (actual vs       budget)
• Budget and forecast preparation
• Compliance Taxes • Insurance exposures / claims processing
• Ad hoc analysis and reporting
• Cash Management and Bank Reporting
• Maintains cash management system
• Provide daily cash review and reporting
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Prepare and distributes all bank forms
• Develop preliminary daily borrowing base calculations
• Develop preliminary monthly borrowing base recap
 
Qualifications
 
Education and Other Skills:
  • Bachelor Science degree in Accounting required
  • MBA / CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum 7 years prior work experience in distribution
  • 4 years of food distribution / DSD (Direct-Store-Door) experience preferred
  • 4 years work history with a $150M revenue base company
  • Knowledge of ERP, WMS (Warehouse Management System) and MRP systems
  • Experience implementing ERP systems
  • Proficient in Excel (PIVOT TABLES, V-LOOK UPS)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills, high energy, initiative and creativity
  • Hands-on involvement in a cost focused business
